If any of you in the Redding, CA area are in search of the ideal vehicle that will offer you a high level of efficiency, then perhaps you should consider the Toyota Corolla. This model isn't usually on someone's radar when they are looking for an eco-friendly option, but with its latest recognition we have a feeling this is all about to change.
The Green Car Journal recently released its list of nominations for the coveted title of 2014 Green Car of the Year, and we were thrilled to learn that the Corolla was among them. Despite being gasoline-powered and not having any hybrid qualities, this eleventh generation sedan could quite possible win the award.
In addition, the publication awarded the Corolla with a 'Green Car Product of Excellence' distinction. What is suddenly causing the vehicle to earn its green status? The factors that really stood out to judges was its ability to offer up to 42 miles per gallon on the highway. This combined with its popularity in dealerships across the U.S. like Lithia Toyota of Redding, gives the Corolla the potential to play a big role in positively impacting the environment.
We'll simply have to wait until the L.A. Auto Show which takes place Nov. 20-21, to see if this is enough for the Corolla to take home the award. Our fingers our crossed, as we would love to see the model win yet another accolade to add to its collection.
In the meantime, we invite you to check out the new Toyota lineup and all of its great eco-friendly offerings. With models like the Prius and a variety of different hybrids, you'll have quite a few options to choose from. Come explore the possibilities, today!
