In Toyota City, Japan, the automaker is continuing to develop its eco-district where drivers can explore the future of electric mobility through its innovative eco-friendly car sharing program. This program, known as Ha:mo1 Ride2 which stands for "Harmonious Mobility" Network, is located in Toyota Ecoful Town. Here at Lithia Toyota of Redding, we are excited to share with you the exiting details regarding how this area is developing and expanding.
The Harmonious Mobility Network allows users to rent single-passenger electric cars when they need to make short commutes to public transportation or other destinations around town. The Smart Mobility Park is now equipped with solar-powered EV charging stations. Having a plentiful amount of solar energy available for charging, lowers the burden that is placed on power-grid electricity.
In addition to the single-passenger electric cars, the mobility park also has power-assisted bikes available for rent as well. This is a great way to introduce people to alternative modes of transportation that don't require gasoline and contribute to air pollution.
Toyota is planning to continue expanding its vehicle sharing program as well. This fall the goal is to have about 100 ultra-compact single-passenger EV vehicles along with 100 power-assisted bicycles available at 20 different stations in central Toyota City. We are excited to see Toyota's Ecoful town develop in the future and we'll be sure to keep you updated right here on our blog as more details are released.
