No matter which model within the new Toyota lineup you choose, here at Lithia Toyota of Redding we can guarantee you'll drive away with a vehicle that is built to last. This is because Toyota puts generous amounts of time into each and every design to ensure they are composed of the best possible Toyota parts. To streamline this process, the automaker is now exploring the idea of having more common components across the model lineup.

What this means, is that while models like the Toyota Avalon and Highlander may appear quite different in design, they actually have several common components that make up their power steering or other interior parts. This not only helps cut down on time during the production process, but it reduces costs by about 30 percent as well.

Toyota strives to focus its attention of streamlining the parts used in several different areas. For example with the 50 different knee-level airbags used in models, it hopes to reduce the variations by about 80 percent. Also with the cylinder sizes used in engines, the goal is to reduce them from 18 to six by 2016. As of now, Toyota has successfully applied this process to radiator production. While there were 100 versions, it was able to cut back to just 21 varieties that are now used across the model lineup.
